The Annual Conference for Democratic Change in Iran, is the largest political event held in support of the Iranian opposition movement. Each year, thousands of current and former elected officials, dignitaries, artists, and intellectuals from all over the globe, gather in Paris to rally support for the Iranian opposition.
At the 2013 conference, the keynote address was delivered by Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran. Among the sponsors of the 2014 Conference for Democratic Change, are Friends of a Free Iran and The Committee for Iran Freedom. The highly attended event represents the growing support for democratic change in Iran.
According to a statement by the Britain’s Parliamentary Committee for Iran Freedom, this year’s conference will highlight:
- The role of western governments, particularly the permanent members of the UN Security Council, (United States, Russia, China, United Kingdom, France, and Germany) with regard to Iran’s continued defiance vis-a-vis enrichment of Uranium for weaponization.
- Discussions regarding the changing socio-economic and political landscape under Rouhani’s government.
- Discussions regarding condition of Camp Liberty residents in Iraq.
